Brief Description of Duties and Responsibilities
Conceptualize research and development programs and projects relevant to the objectives of the Institute and national government programs;
Plan, direct, and coordinate research activities of the Division and assume direct responsibility for the operation thereof;
Implement activities of the Institute relating to textile research and development projects, technical services and linkages with stakeholders;
Evaluate methods and progress of current investigations and the significance of results and contribute to the development of policy and/or programs for scientific and technological research and development;
Provide consultancy and technical services on textile raw materials, products, processes, quality control, standardization and engineering work;
Represent the Institute in meeting, seminars and conferences, and other ad hoc committees and other related work;
Review and pre-assess worthiness/readiness of scientific and technical papers for publication; and
Oversee the implementation of ISO 9001 QMS of the processes related to the Division for the maintenance of accreditation/certification.
